BBYO Teen Advisor:

Our community partners with BBYO to offer an incredible youth group experience to Jewish teens in Finland. BBYO is a leading global Jewish teen movement, providing fun and meaningful experiences that inspire a commitment to Jewish life, learning, and leadership. We empower teens to take on leadership roles, build lifelong friendships, and develop skills that prepare them for college and beyond.

Role Overview:

We are seeking passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to help lead our Youth Movement, BBYO Finland. As an Advisor, you will mentor and guide Jewish teens in your community, helping them to develop leadership skills, explore their Jewish identity, and create lasting memories. This part-time role is around 15 hours/week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance, support, and encouragement to BBYO members.
  • Program Planning: Assist teens in planning and executing chapter events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Leadership Development: Foster leadership skills among teens by facilitating training sessions and workshops.
  • Community Engagement: Encourage active participation in community service projects and Jewish learning experiences.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate positive relationships with teens, parents, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Youth Development: A genuine interest in working with teens and helping them grow.
  • Jewish Knowledge: Strong understanding of Jewish values, traditions, and culture.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership experience, preferably in a youth or educational setting.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • Commitment: Willingness to commit time regularly for meetings, events, and planning sessions, primarily during evenings and weekends!
  • Ability to travels: there are several international BBYO conferences a year and the Advisor will accompany our teens on these trips
